Football heroes read children's classics at G.I. library


Nearly 100 children gathered at the Grand Island Public Library to listen as Nebraska Danger football players read beloved children's stories on Thursday.

Two players read for the crowd as part of the Children's Summer Reading Club before the children broke off into groups to read. After that, children were able to meet with the players, who signed autographs while the children drank punch and ate cookies.

"It's just awesome (getting to meet the players)," said Marciano Davis, a fifth-grader who plays running back on the Little Danger football team....MORE
