The Nebraska Danger Indoor Professional Football Team has re-signed seven players to their roster for the 2015 season. The Danger also added two former Colorado Ice players, Harcourt Farquharson and Justin Helwege.
First Team All-IFL player, Darius Savage, returns as a key offensive lineman for the Danger. Additionally, Pig Brown, Second Team All-IFL player, will once again lead the Danger defense. Last season, Brown tallied 97 tackles, nine sacks and two interceptions.
Savage and Brown will be joined by returning teammates Kayne Farquharson, Adrian Davis, O.J. Simpson, Darnell Terrell and Isaiah Scott. Farquharson played a major role in the Danger offense in the 2014 season with 63 receptions and 15 receiving touchdowns.
"These guys helped lead us to back-to-back Intense Conference Championships, so I'm happy to bring them back into camp," said Danger Head Coach Mike Davis. "They still need to step up and compete in camp to earn back their spots on the final roster, but I'm really pleased to bring each one of these guys back."
Scott only joined the Danger right before the playoffs last season, but made an impact with 25 tackles and two interceptions, one of which was returned for a touchdown. Simpson was another player who made a big impression within a small amount of time. Although he only played the last five games of the season, Simpson racked up 16 receptions with one receiving touchdown, as well as 408 yards on 19 kickoff returns.
Players who are new to the Nebraska Danger include Harcourt Farquharson and Justin Helwege, who both played for the Colorado Ice last season. Farquharson posted 52 tackles and four interceptions for the Ice.
Sean Davis, Jared Elmore, David James II and Xavier Lee are also newcomers for the Danger this season.
"These new additions are great for us. Everyone has an equal shot going into camp, only the best will make it to the final roster," Davis said.
The 2015 season will begin for the Danger on Sunday, March 1st in Wisconsin versus the Green Bay Blizzard. The Danger return to the Bone Yard on March 7 to take on the expansion Wichita Falls Nighthawks with kickoff set for 7pm.
