Two TD Performance Earns Angelo Pease Danger Player of the Week Nod

In a game that saw the Nebraska Danger playing from behind from the outset, running back Angelo Pease put together his best game of the season. Before Friday night’s 62-48 setback, Pease had never surpassed 50 yards rushing in a game or ran for more than one TD in a game.
However, this past Friday night, Pease accomplished both of those feats, rushing for 67-yards while punching in two TD’s against Sioux Falls.
Pease got the bulk of his rushing yards in one play, and it was a play that thrust the Nebraska Danger back into contention with the storm. With 6:13 left in the 3rd Quarter and the Danger trailing by 11, Pease broke free for a 41-yard TD run through the Storm defense to make it 45-42 following a 2-point conversion also converted by Pease.
Pease toted the rock 12 more times for 26 more yards, adding another TD in the game. The stat line is even more impressive when considering the Danger trailed 28-7 at one point, suggesting the offense would lean toward a pass-heavy attack. Coach Stoute decided to keep the rock in his tailback’s hands, and it paid off in the immediate.
Pease’s 67-yard performance beats his previous season-high rushing total by 19 yards, and could be a good sign to come as the Danger look to earn their first win since March this weekend when they hit the road to take on a winless Green Bay Blizzard.
Kickoff for that game is set for 7:05 p.m. Saturday night in Green Bay.
