The Nebraska Danger couldn't keep its winning streak alive Saturday as the Green Bay Blizzard got the best of them for the second-straight time this season in a 60-50 setback.
Tommy Armstrong Jr. once again shined for the Danger in defeat, totaling six TD's in the game, with four of them coming through the air in the 4th Quarter in a comeback effort. Three of those TD's went to Greg Dent Jr. who doubled his season TD total to six.
The Danger brought it as close as 53-50 in the final minute of the game, but a 6-yard TD run from Green Bay capped the game for the home team, sending the Danger to a 3-4 record on the season. With the loss, the Danger finds itself looking up in the standings to both Green Bay and Tucson for that 4th spot in the IFL playoffs come June. With the win, Green Bay improved to 5-2 on the year, while Tucson suffered a closer than expected loss to league power Arizona this past weekend to fall to 3-3 on the year.
The Danger have a great chance to get a game back as early as this weekend, however, as Green Bay turns around and has to hit the road for Grand Island for another Saturday showdown.
Dating back to last season, Green Bay has gotten the better of the Danger, winning the last four meetings. In fact, the last time the Danger toppled the Blizzard was on March 11, 2018 when they handled Green Bay 59-23 in Grand Island.
The Danger will look to get a little bit of that home field magic back this weekend. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. on Saturday inside the Heartland Events Center for Family Night!
