Danger tames the Wild

Not even being in a tornado watch could stop 5,291 fans from coming out to see the Nebraska Danger (2-4) return to the Danger Turf after back-to-back road games. The Danger was to grab a much needed win against fellow Intense Conference rival Wichita Wild (2-5).

Danger QB Rocky Hinds got off to a quick start by connecting to Corey Surrency for a 9 yard TD only 1:39 into the game. Later in the first, Hinds and Kayne Farquharson connected for Farquharson's first touchdown of the night to make the score 14-3.

In his first game with the Danger, linebacker Steve Allen made a huge tackle on fourth-and-goal on the 1-yard line. The Wild would not be held out forever as Marcus Jackson rushed for an 8 yard touchdown and James Chandler hit a field goal to close within 1 point of the Danger at halftime 14-13.

The Wild received the ball first in the second half and capitalized with a 30-yard touchdown run on the first play of the half. Wichita gained the lead 19-14. Farquharson answered with another touchdown reception to give the Danger back the lead.

Coming off an impressive performance against the Everett Raptors, Danger running back Daniel Libre scored his third touchdown in two games from 1-yard out. Libre finished the night with 36 yards and the Danger combined for 54 yards on the ground.

Hinds was not finished connecting with Farquharson, with another two touchdown passes in the fourth quarter to secure the win 42-27. On the night, Hinds went 20 for 31 with 5 touchdown passes and 213 yards.

The Danger receiving core was lead by Surrency with 8 completions for 96 yards. Each of Farquharson's four receptions went for touchdowns totaling 56 yards in the process.

The Danger defense also had a big night with two sacks and two interceptions. Darnell Terrell also had two interceptions, but each was negated by penalties.

Next up for the Danger is a trip to the undefeated Sioux Falls Storm on Saturday, April 21. The Danger will return the Danger Zone on Friday, April 27th to face the Everett Raptors with a 7:05 p.m. kickoff.
