Danger crush Ice

Kayne "The Real Deal" Farquharson pulled in a team high seven passes from Rocky Hinds to lead the Nebraska Danger (4-5) to a 45-33 upset of the Colorado Ice on Saturday. The win in Fort Collins, CO is the Danger's first road win of the season and makes back-to-back victories for the Danger.

The Ice jumped out to a 7-0 lead early in the first quarter, but the Danger receiver Tavares Pressley responded with a 53 yard kickoff return for a touchdown to tie the game at 7. The Danger scored 21 unanswered points after the opening Ice touchdown to pull ahead 21-7 midway through the second quarter.

After halftime, Danger Coach Mike Davis kept the Ice at bay with the help of the running game. Five different Danger players gained rushing yards, with Daniel Libre leading the pack with 17 attempts for 42 yards.

The Danger defense held the Ice to only 175 total yards on the night. Former IFL Defensive Player of the Week, Adrian Davis recorded the lone sack on the night for a 4 yard loss.

A fourth win gives the Danger a new team high for wins in a season. In last year's debut season, the Danger finished 3-11.

The Danger came into the game ranked fourth in the Intense Conference and two games behind the Ice. The top four teams from the Intense Conference will advance into the playoffs so winning against the Ice was crucial to staying ahead of the Wichita Wild and remain in playoff contention.

The Danger next takes a trip to Omaha to take on the Beef (3-6) in a rematch from week 3 in which the Danger cruised to a 48-34 victory. Kickoff is at 7:05 pm on Saturday, May 12 at the Omaha Civic Auditorium.
